Answers Before You Call

Do I need an appointment, or can I come the same day?

Same-day appointments are usually available. Antioch is just a few minutes from our Main Street shop in Old Mill Creek, so a quick call often gets your dog or cat in that day. Walk-ins are welcome too, though calling first means less waiting.

My kids' dog has never been groomed before. Can you handle a nervous first-timer?

Yes, and this is one of our favorite jobs. We go slow, use a gentle hand, and let the dog set the pace. First-time puppies from Antioch families usually leave with a clean coat and a treat, already braver for the next visit.

Do you groom cats too?

We do. Cat baths, brush-outs, and nail trims are all part of what we do, for long-haired and short-haired cats alike. Many Antioch households bring both the dog and the cat, and we are patient with both.

What should Antioch customers know?

Antioch sits in the Chain O'Lakes waterway system along the Wisconsin border, about halfway between Chicago and Milwaukee. It is a genuine family town, with nearly 40 percent of households raising kids under 18, which is why so many of our Antioch clients are busy parents juggling school runs and work. Families here are spread across the village from the lakes west of the center, like Lake Marie, to Antioch Lake south of town and the wetlands near Redwing Slough. Sequoit Creek runs through the town's history, and the rebuilt sawmill along it still anchors local pride. Many Antioch families also keep outdoor dogs who roam big yards and pick up burrs, mud, and lake muck, so baths are a regular part of life here.

Why Antioch customers need this work

Family dogs in Antioch tend to live outdoors as much as in, which makes grooming less about show ribbons and more about keeping everybody comfortable. Dog Bath and Brush-Out in Antioch is our most common request, especially after a muddy week in the yard. Mat Removal and Dematting in Antioch matters for the doodles and long-haired mixes popular with local families, and Nail Trimming in Antioch saves parents from wrestling clippers at home. We also handle Cat Grooming for households that have a cat supervising the dog. Every service is priced flat and quoted up front, so a family budget never gets surprised.

Recent work in the Antioch area

• A family dog who rolled in something by Sequoit Creek came in for a same-day Mess and Odor Cleanup Bath and went home smelling like nothing at all.
• A kids' golden retriever with a heavy undercoat got a Deshedding Treatment before summer, cutting down the fur on the living room carpet.
• Two cats from an Antioch household came in for a Cat Bath and Brush-Out and were finished and back home the same afternoon.

Why choose WASH & WAG Country Grooming for pet grooming in Antioch?

Antioch is full of family dogs, from the kids' first puppy to the old retriever who grew up alongside them, and we treat every one of them like one of our own. Our shop on Main Street in Old Mill Creek is a short drive from downtown Antioch, and same-day appointments are usually available. Call us and come on over.

Antioch pet parents could drive to Gurnee or Libertyville for grooming, but chain shops there mean waiting lists, upsells, and prices that change with the dog's mood.
